FUN FOTO CHALLENGE: Water or the Season of Winter

This is California in late May.  For those who know the seasons in the USA, they know that this is strange.  But not if i tell you that I took this picture at the Sequoia National Park, where it can snow anytime of the year, when the temperatures are really lowered up in the mountains, and the rain clouds start to hover over the California Ranges, just a few hours north of LA.  How wonderful is God’s creation.  It is so logical, and it makes so much sense, yet is still beyond the comprehension of even the most intelligent of human beings!  This is my entry to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Water or the Season of Winter.

Travel Theme Challenge: Horizons – Manila Bay

Manila Bay is a happy place.  The boardwalk is always full of people as the sun begins to set.  They flock there to watch the glorious scene of the setting of the sun at the end of the day.  There are also a lot of boats that go off into the horizon for another view of the same beautiful event.  What’s with the sunset?  It opens one to a sensitivity to the ending of something, of saying goodbye to a day that won’t return.  It is a moment of thanksgiving, of forgiveness, of a claim to peace deep within – things we all need to think about rolled into one.

This is my entry to Ailsa’s Travel Theme Challenge: Horizons.

Orange is the color of knowledge. That makes it a very important color, because it represents a very unique human gift – the ability to comprehend the truth, and therefore the ability to be in communion with God. One of the most important principles that I live by is: One cannot love what one doesn’t know, and one cannot serve what one does not love. To know God is to love God, and to love God is to serve God.  Go orange!

These orange colored bottles are displayed as wall art at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Bangkok.  I took this picture while wandering about in the hotel in January 2014; they stood quietly like militant soldiers, silent tokens of time passing by, while the people’s rally in Bangkok was going on just a block away.  This is my entry to Ailsa’s travel theme challenge: Orange.

The Rainbows of Niagara Falls, New York

How mesmerizing to be so close to this magical beauty of nature.  Powerful water and beautiful rainbows.  This is the American side of Niagara Falls, by Buffalo, New York.  It’s my third time to visit Niagara Falls, and i have to say that this last one was so spectacular, and it was such a treat to be with family as well.
