A WORD A WEEK PHOTO CHALLENGE: Silhouette

This is a Word a Week Challenge entry for “Silhouette.”  From Mount Sameiro in Braga, Portugal, a view of the sunset against the topiaries and statues in front of the Bom Jesu Church creates glorious and captivating silhouettes. For centuries, the Church has been the patron of the arts, but in this church, arts is taken to a new light by not only focusing on indoor paintings and mosaics, but moving into the outdoors with the beautiful gardens. I believe that beauty is the easiest and most disarming access to God, and this Church got the formula right.
