Tita Bebot just posted a picture of the Chicago Skyscrapers as one of her entries for Where’s My Backpack Photo Theme “Height.”  Like many of our friends, she and I share a love for the city, and it is of course, obvious and unapologetic.  That’s why we Filipinos are here, even though for most of us, winter is Chicago is such a trying time.   We claim many great things about it, and so I thought i’d post this picture of the skyline that I took a couple of years ago.  Now people can have a glimpse of it’s beauty, but it will not compare to seeing it in real time here.  It’s the ultimate American city, if you ask for my two cents… even more than New York and Los Angeles.  This city shows the power of the human person, but it is always balanced with a sense of warm recognition of the higher powers.  It does evoke a sense of the transcendent, especially because in this city, the values of family and loyalty, and the fundamentals of religious values are still very much alive and well, despite all the struggles that it faces today.

  1. What a beautiful scene Fr. Sunny. Worthkeeping!
